Woaaaaah! Extremely rare two-tone lobster found alive!!!
Extremely amazed scientist when this very rare two-tone lobster was discovered in the northern US state of Maine.
Jeff Edwards, a fishing manic caught this very rare half-orange, half-brown lobster and kept it to show off to family and friends. After taking a few snaps, he then decided to donate the lobster to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute in Portland, which keeps lobsters in a tank for child education programmes.
Alan Lishness, from the institute, said: ‘This one just stops people in their tracks. Even people who’ve seen thousands of lobsters just can’t believe it.
‘It looked as if someone had taken painter’s tape and run it from proboscis to tail, then spray-painted one side. It’s a perfectly straight line. You don’t usually see such hard edges in nature.’
The Lobster Institute at the University of Maine has said the chances of getting a two-tone lobster are approximately 1-in-50 million. Only albino lobsters are harder to come by.
